Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Cape Canaveral, Florida. This Contract-to-permanent position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to financial operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in accounting processes. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in financial reporting, reconciliations, and month-end close activities.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and analyze financial records and reports to ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.

• Perform month-end and year-end close procedures, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.

• Reconcile bank accounts, general ledger accounts, and intercompany transactions for accuracy.

• Assist in developing budgets, forecasts, and conducting variance analysis.

• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes efficiently.

• Support external audits by preparing schedules and workpapers.

• Maintain and update the fixed asset register, including depreciation calculations.

• Contribute to tax filings, such as sales and income tax documentation.

• Generate accurate financial reports for management review and decision-making.

• Ensure adherence to internal controls and company policies while supporting special accounting projects. Requirements • Proficiency in accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes.

• Strong experience with bank reconciliations and general ledger maintenance.

• Expertise in preparing journal entries and conducting month-end close procedures.

• Knowledge of financial reporting standards and compliance requirements.

• Ability to work with fixed asset registers and perform depreciation calculations.

• Familiarity with tax filings, including sales and income tax documentation.

• Strong analytical skills for budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis.

• Experience in preparing audit schedules and collaborating with external auditors.
