    Position Overview

    The HR Specialist – Benefits is responsible for administering employee benefits programs, ensuring compliance, and supporting employees with their benefits needs. This role focuses on enhancing processes, managing leave policies, and delivering a streamlined employee experience.

    Day-to-Day Responsibilities

    + Handle benefits administration including enrollments, terminations, claims, COBRA, and employee inquiries.

    + Manage FMLA, ADA, Workers’ Compensation claims, and leave policies.

    + Educate employees on benefit options, eligibility, and compliance.

    + Maintain accuracy in HRIS and payroll systems, including regular audits.

    + Administer 401(k) enrollments, contributions, and withdrawals, ensuring compliance.

    + Support open enrollment efforts, involving travel to company sites in Houston, Omaha, and Iowa during October–December.

     

    Key Weekly Tasks

     

    + Collaborate on recruitment strategies to highlight employee benefits.

    + Audit reports and payroll files for compliance and accuracy.

    + Review monthly ACA reporting, vendor payments, and benefits updates.

    Travel Requirements

    Open enrollment travel includes visits to different sites (fully covered) to support employee onboarding and benefits enrollment.

    Requirements

    Qualifications

    + Experience in benefits administration with FMLA, ADA, ACA compliance knowledge.

    + Strong communication and organizational skills.

    + Ability to travel periodically for business needs.

     

    Preferred Skills

     

    + HR certifications (SHRM-CP, PHR) and familiarity with software like HRIS and payroll systems.
