Web Developer (Full-Time, Direct-Hire)

This is a hybrid role, 3 days a week in Cypress, CA

Responsibilities:

Technical Design

+ Translate business and functional requirements into detailed technical designs for web-based solutions, including third-party API integrations.

+ Design systems that are scalable, secure, and maintainable, potentially spanning multiple platforms or technologies.

+ Conduct peer reviews to ensure design quality and alignment with architectural best practices.

+ Apply established design patterns and maintain consistency across applications.

+ Prioritize performance optimization, accessibility, and responsive design in all solutions.

Web Application Development

+ Build and enhance external web applications using modern frameworks and languages.

+ Write high-quality, testable code that meets business and technical specifications.

+ Collaborate with UI/UX, product, and QA teams to successfully deliver new features.

+ Troubleshoot and resolve full-stack technical issues.

+ Contribute to code reviews and process improvements.

+ Implement effective logging, monitoring, and error-handling strategies.

+ Continually improve system reliability and maintainability.

Testing and Validation

+ Create and execute unit and integration tests to validate application behavior.

+ Ensure code changes meet acceptance criteria and address any defects.

+ Document test processes and results.

+ Support user acceptance testing and production validation in collaboration with QA and product teams.

+ Develop and maintain reusable test suites.

Project and Task Estimation

+ Provide accurate estimates for tasks and project phases.

+ Communicate dependencies, risks, and constraints clearly.

+ Track progress and deliver work aligned with timelines and priorities.

Standards and Best Practices

+ Follow established SDLC processes, coding standards, and documentation requirements.

+ Incorporate input from Architecture and Security to ensure compliance.

+ Identify and contribute reusable solutions, shared components, and standardized design approaches.

+ Continuously pursue professional development and support team learning.

+ Assist other departments with technical/application issues as needed.

Requirements

Requirements:

+ Bachelor's degree in CS, Information Systems, or related preferred

+ Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in web application development.

+ Strong skills in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and jQuery.

+ Solid PHP experience, specifically in WordPress theme and plugin development.

+ Understanding of WordPress architecture, REST API, hooks, and cron jobs.

+ Experience with responsive design and performance optimization.

+ Familiarity with MySQL and ability to write/optimize SQL queries.

+ Comfortable with Git version control and Linux-based environments (LAMP stack).

+ Basic knowledge of DNS, domain management, and cPanel or similar hosting tools.
