Description
We are looking for a skilled Cash Application Specialist to join a team in Saint Paul, Minnesota. This is a long-term contract position offering stability and the opportunity to contribute to a growing organization. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in managing accounts receivable processes, resolving payment discrepancies, and ensuring compliance with state-specific regulations.
Responsibilities:
• Process and apply incoming payments accurately to customer accounts, ensuring timely reconciliation.
• Investigate and resolve payment discrepancies, including short payments and misapplied transactions.
• Collaborate with sales teams and account managers across multiple states to address client-specific issues.
• Conduct detailed research and reconciliation for complex accounts with high transaction volumes.
• Ensure compliance with state-specific payment regulations, particularly in industries with strict legal deadlines.
• Generate and analyze reports to identify trends, variances, and potential issues within accounts.
• Maintain accurate records and coding for transactions across different states.
• Communicate effectively with customers to address disputes and clarify payment details.
• Utilize internal systems, including AS400, to manage and track account activity.
• Support team members with administrative tasks to ensure seamless accounts receivable operations.

Requirements • At least 1 year of experience in accounts receivable, cash application, or a related field.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to research and resolve complex payment issues.
• Proficiency in account reconciliation and variance analysis.
• Familiarity with corporate credit and collections processes.
• Advanced Excel skills, including formulas and data analysis.
• Ability to work quickly and efficiently within fast-paced environments.
• Comfortable learning and working with legacy systems like AS400.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across departments.
