Description

We are looking for an experienced Medical Receptionist to join our team on a contract basis in Oakland, California. This role requires a detail-oriented individual who can provide excellent administrative support in a healthcare setting. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills and an ability to deliver exceptional customer service to patients.

Responsibilities:

• Greet and assist patients during check-in and check-out processes, ensuring a positive experience.

• Schedule patient appointments efficiently and accurately, maintaining up-to-date records.

• Handle incoming calls and inquiries, providing information or directing calls to the appropriate departments.

• Manage front office operations, including maintaining a clean and organized reception area.

• Verify and update patient information in the system, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.

• Collaborate with healthcare staff to ensure smooth coordination of patient care.

• Process billing and insurance documentation as needed, adhering to clinic policies.

• Address patient concerns or questions in a courteous manner, ensuring satisfaction.

• Maintain knowledge of basic medical terminology to facilitate communication with staff and patients.

• Follow established protocols and procedures to ensure compliance with healthcare regulations.

Requirements • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a medical reception or similar role.

• Proficiency in patient scheduling and medical front office operations.

• Strong understanding of receptionist duties, including managing calls and inquiries.

• Familiarity with basic medical terminology to support effective communication.

• Excellent organizational and multitasking skills in a fast-paced environment.

• Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to healthcare regulations.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to deliver high-quality customer service.
