Description

We are looking for a diligent Staff Accountant to join our team on a contract basis. In this role, you will play a crucial part in managing financial operations, ensuring accuracy in accounting processes, and supporting various reporting tasks. This position is ideal for detail-oriented professionals with experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger management.

Responsibilities:

• Generate detailed general ledger reports to support financial analysis and decision-making.

• Prepare and file state sales tax returns accurately and on time.

• Maintain and update outbound freight tracking spreadsheets.

• Monitor and manage the accounts receivable inbox, handling customer requests, mailing invoices, and managing invoice portals.

• Provide backup support for purchase order receiving and accounts payable voucher processing.

• Execute inventory transactions related to quantity movements.

• Manage accounts receivable aging, including updating payment lists, addressing overdue accounts, and conducting collection inquiries.

• Review and post job costing transactions daily to ensure accurate accounting records.

• Calculate driver log times for internal costing purposes and process related payments.

• Handle internal freight transactions, including managing driver vouchers and payments

Requirements • Proficiency in accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.

• Strong knowledge of general ledger functions and journal entries.

• Experience with bank reconciliations and month-end close procedures.

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.

• Familiarity with aging reports and managing overdue accounts.

• Ability to perform accurate and timely financial calculations.

• Excellent organizational and communication skills.

• Prior experience in manufacturing or a similar industry is preferred.
