Description

We are looking for an experienced Attorney specializing in civil litigation defense to join our team in Columbia, Missouri or at our firm location in Springfield, MO. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a skilled lawyer to manage diverse cases, collaborate with a supportive team, and contribute to a dynamic legal practice. Responsibilities:

• Manage a variety of civil defense cases, including those involving construction defects and personal injury claims.

• Conduct and defend depositions, attend hearings, and develop effective litigation strategies.

• Draft and respond to legal motions, discovery requests, and settlement agreements.

• Collaborate with a team of attorneys and legal professionals to ensure the best outcomes for clients.

• Maintain a consistent billable hour target while adhering to firm guidelines.

• Represent clients confidently in court and deliver persuasive arguments.

• Stay updated on legal regulations and case precedents to inform strategies.

• Provide clear communication and updates to clients regarding case progress.

• Participate in team meetings and contribute to a positive and collaborative work culture.

Requirements • Must hold a valid license to practice law in the state of Missouri.

• At least 2 years of experience in civil litigation, preferably in defense work.

• Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.

• Proven ability to manage cases independently and meet deadlines.

• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.

• Confidence in courtroom settings and a track record of successful case management.

• Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.

• Familiarity with drafting motions, briefing, and discovery processes.
