Description

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Fairfax, Virginia. In this role, you will play a crucial part in managing financial tasks such as job costing, month-end close processes, and account reconciliations. This position is ideal for someone with strong attention to detail and expertise in real estate project accounting and intercompany transactions.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct detailed job costing analyses for development projects to ensure accurate financial tracking.

• Prepare month end journal entries.

• Perform reconciliations of accounts to maintain accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.

• Maintain and oversee the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are properly recorded.

• Handle intercompany transactions and ensure proper allocation across entities.

• Collaborate with project teams to provide financial insights and support for real estate accounting.

• Identify and resolve discrepancies in accounting records to ensure data integrity.

• Prepare and present financial reports to stakeholders, highlighting key findings and recommendations.

• Support audits and provide documentation as needed to ensure compliance.

Requirements • Proven experience in month-end close processes and financial reporting.

• Strong knowledge of general ledger and journal entry procedures.

• Expertise in account reconciliations and ensuring compliance with accounting standards.

• Demonstrated ability to manage job costing for real estate development projects.

• Familiarity with intercompany transactions and related accounting practices.

• Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.

• Proficiency in accounting software and tools.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
