Description We are looking for an experienced Senior Financial Analyst to join our team in Des Moines, Iowa, on a long-term contract basis. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in the utilities and infrastructure industry, providing critical financial insights and support to drive strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of financial modeling and forecasting.

Responsibilities:

• Build and refine advanced financial models to support forecasting, budgeting, and strategic planning efforts.

• Analyze financial results on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis to identify trends, variances, and key business drivers.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations and engineering, to evaluate capital projects and cost optimization strategies.

• Develop executive-level presentations and reporting materials for senior leadership and board meetings.

• Conduct sensitivity analyses and scenario modeling to assess the impact of market changes, regulatory updates, and investment opportunities.

• Provide financial due diligence and valuation modeling for mergers, acquisitions, and joint ventures.

• Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data and reporting systems.

• Propose enhancements to financial processes, tools, and reporting methodologies to improve efficiency.

• Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory developments affecting the utilities and energy sector. Requirements • Proven experience in financial analysis, including forecasting and budgeting.

• Expertise in financial modeling and variance analysis.

• Strong proficiency in data mining techniques and ad hoc financial analysis.

• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

• Advanced proficiency in Excel and other financial tools.

• Strong communication skills, including the ability to present complex financial data to senior leadership.

• Knowledge of the utilities or energy industry is preferred.

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; MBA or CFA is a plus.
