Description We are looking for an experienced Trust & Estate Paralegal to join a respected estate planning and elder law firm in Worcester, Massachusetts. This role offers an opportunity to work closely with attorneys in preparing legal documents, managing client relationships, and navigating complex Medicaid planning processes. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and committed to providing outstanding service to clients.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare, file, and manage Medicaid applications along with all required supporting documentation.
• Draft and review estate planning documents such as wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and health care proxies.
• Support attorneys in probate and trust administration tasks, including inventorying assets, preparing accountings, and submitting court filings.
• Act as a liaison by communicating effectively with clients, financial institutions, and government agencies.
• Maintain organized client files and ensure proper use of case management systems.
• Conduct legal research to stay informed on updates in Medicaid and elder law regulations. Requirements
Requirements:
+ Minimum of 3 years of experience as a paralegal in trust & estate law, with a focus on Medicaid planning.
+ Strong knowledge of Massachusetts Medicaid (MassHealth) rules and procedures.
+ Proficiency in legal software and Microsoft Office Suite.
+ Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
+ Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
+ Paralegal certificate or equivalent experience preferred.
Preferred Skills:
+ Experience with elder law, guardianships, and long-term care planning.
+ Familiarity with estate tax filings and fiduciary accounting.
