    Description

    Wheeler Machinery Co. is seeking to hire a full-time Power Systems Field Maintenance Technician based out of their Salt Lake City, UT location. To provide efficient, clean and on-time preventative maintenance services for CAT and non-CAT equipment in the field. Attention to safety, maintaining cleanliness, following set procedures, and taking care in their work is what sets us apart from the competition.

    Key Responsibilities:

    + Perform preventive maintenance (PM) services on diesel and natural gas engines (CAT and non-CAT)

    + Conduct 120V–480V load bank testing

    + Perform minor troubleshooting and repairs on engines and generators

    + Complete minor AC electrical repairs as needed

    + Follow established procedures and safety protocols at all times

    + Accurately complete all assigned tasks from supervisors and team leads

    + Maintain accurate records of services performed and parts used

    + Coordinate parts orders, warranty documentation, and service reports

    + Operate within established flat-rate time standards

    + Maintain a clean and organized work area, tools, and vehicle

    Required Qualifications:

    + **Safety-first mindset** with a strong personal safety record

    + Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; ability to obtain or possess a CDL

    + Strong work ethic, self-motivation, and organizational skills

    + Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills

    + Professional appearance and demeanor

    + Hands-on experience with diesel and/or gas engines

    + Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics

    + Proficient in basic computer applications and documentation

    + Willingness to work extended hours, including nights and weekends, as needed

    + Ability to follow detailed instructions and work independently

    + Team-oriented with the ability to collaborate across departments

    + Willingness to participate in ongoing training and development

    Qualifications:

    + Experience working on CAT equipment

    + Two year’s diesel technology training

    + Power Generation experience preferred
