Overview

ML Ruberton Construction / Road Safety Systems, subsidiaries of RoadGuard, a division of GeoStabilization International, is seeking an experienced Estimator to help drive the growth of our highway specialty contracting operations. Our primary services include the installation of a variety of guiderail (guardrail) systems, fences, highway signs, bridge railings and fences, sign structures, and drilled shaft foundations. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in civil construction estimating who thrives in a fast-paced, self-motivated environment.

Responsibilities

+ Prepare quotes and bids generating approximately $15M in annual revenue.

+ Seek out and vet contracting opportunities.

+ Attend site visits and pre-bid meetings as needed.

+ Perform quantity takeoffs, analyze drawings and specifications to develop costs and prices for both self-performed and subcontracted work.

+ Solicit and evaluate subcontractor quotes in various trades.

+ Build comprehensive, competitive estimates in Bid2Win Estimate software.

+ Manage a pipeline of opportunities using ZenDesk CRM software and attend weekly orders forecasting meetings.

+ Contribute to project strategy and value engineering.

+ Present estimates for internal coordination prior to bid submission.

+ Maintain accurate documentation and communication throughout the estimating process.

+ Support project transition and kick-off with operations team.

+ Assist with materials and subcontractor procurement.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

+ 5+ years of experience in construction estimating.

+ Bachelor's degree.

+ Strong understanding of heavy highway construction, including the interleaving of various scopes and trades.

+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills with clients and colleagues.

+ Valid driver’s license

+ Ability to make presentations to clients and colleagues.

+ Ability to work additional hours as needed to meet bid deadlines.

+ Basic Computer Skills & Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)

Preferred Qualifications

+ Degree in engineering, construction management, or similar

+ Background in estimating heavy civil infrastructure projects

+ Proficiency with software tools:

+ B2W Estimate (or similar, e.g., HeavyBid)

+ Bluebeam

The expected annual base salary range for this position in the Folsom, NJ area is $85,000.00 - $105,000.00. Salary ranges are dependent on a variety of factors, including qualifications, experience and geographic location. Range is not inclusive of potential benefits.
