Position Description

Primary purpose:

The Yates Production Supervisor leads the Yates Production team and reports to the Yates Production Manager. This position is responsible for producing the Yates Field safely and to its maximum potential by optimizing and maintaining producing wells, gathering systems, central batteries, pumping units and various other surface equipment. This position has 14 field operators as direct reports.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

+ Maintain, foster, and support a safe work environment, safe work practices, and environmental stewardship

+ Oversee field and central battery operations

+ Troubleshoot field and production upsets

+ Daily production operations and production reporting

+ Support production operating budgets by recognizing and reporting on key business drivers

+ Coordinate field operator work schedules and PTO coverage

+ Provide training and guidance on field production procedures and processes

+ Maintain compliance with KM management systems (CAM, SC, LMS, OOOOb, MOC, etc…)

+ Development of field operations personnel

+ Provide support in generating innovative operation methods to measure, predict, and maximize oil recovery from the reservoir

+ Collaborate with team members in generating workover/repair operations of wells

+ Provide input into the execution of production projects

+ Act as on-site incident commander in emergency situations

+ Participate in ICS drills and training

Position Requirements

Minimum requirements:

Education: High school diploma or GED.

Experience / Specific knowledge: 7 years minimum experience in oil and gas industry.

Certifications, licenses, registrations:

+ Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.

Competencies, skills, and abilities:

+ Proven track record in managing oil and gas operations in a safe and efficient manner

+ Knowledge of CO2 EOR operations

+ Excellent interpersonal skills

+ Ability to represent Yates field operations to the broader Yates Leadership team (reservoir engineering, accounting, commercial groups, etc...)

+ Ability to instill a strong safety culture in new and less-experienced employees

+ Able to work in a fast-paced environment, frequently under pressure, on multiple tasks

+ Experience in Microsoft applications and well versed in making/generating presentations

+ Proficiency with KM management systems

+ Must be able to work with a team, take direction from Management, keep required work schedules, focus attention on details

+ Required to carry a company provided cell phone, and be available to respond during working and non-working hours

+ Strong background in safe work practices and active participation in safety program

+ Self-starter and high drive for results

+ Ability to handle multiple tasks

+ Strong prioritization and planning skills

Physical demands:

+ Extended hours during upset conditions

+ Work outside in all weather conditions as needed

+ Live within a 30 min response time to the field (Iraan, Sheffield, McCamey or Rankin)

Working conditions:

+ Subject to extended hours, callout and holidays

Preferred education, experience, certifications, competencies, skills, and abilities: Above the minimum requirements; not required but advantageous in this position:

+ Associate’s degree or technical school training

Other responsibilities:

+ Special projects as required.
