Position Summary:
The Belt Production Supervisor is responsibl e for direct supervision of operators and other production staff to ensure smooth production lines and continuity between production team shifts in the Belt Manufacturing Department. The main function is to ensure safety , high quality, timeliness , and efficiency of production through well trained personnel and effective systems to meet customer requirements an d striving towards established objectives . BRECO flex CO., L.L.C is an ISO 9001 certified company . This role is responsible for learning, understanding, and demonstrating ISO 9001 standards through daily work activities .
This position is responsible for making decisions regarding 1) Effectiveness of production worker training, 2) Methodology of manufacturing product in assigned area, 3) Ensuring allocation of resources to meet customer demand, 4) Identification and recommendation of improvements for A3 / Lean activities, and 5) Purchases up to $800.
Job Requirements:
+ 5+ years of experience in the manufacturing environment (3 years supervisory experience in a manufacturing setting is preferred)
+ Previous experience with a hands-on position in a production floor environment, working directly with shift supervisors and operators to drive throughput
+ Experience implementing process improvement for better safety/quality/output/ using Lean manufacturing and/or other industry specific techniques
+ Self-motivated, can work both individually and as a team with minimal direction from manager
+ Fluent in the use of computers (to include Microsoft Office and MAS200), standard office equipment (e.g. calculators, copiers), and measurement tools (e.g. tape measures, calipers)
+ Must be able to work a set schedule (7:00a – 3:30p) with overtime as necessary
+ Ability to learn an extensive and diverse product catalogue
+ Reliable transportation to and from work
+ High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred Skills and Experience:
+ Manufacturing equipment troubleshooting
+ Lean manufacturing methodology
+ ISO 9001 experience
+ ERP system knowledge (JD Edwards, SAP, Fulcrum, etc.)
Job Functions include but are not limited to:
+ Motivate and train operators and other direct reports to adequately fulfill their position requirements and strive for continuous improvement
+ Troubleshoot equipment issues and implement timely solutions with robust corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence and reduce future downtime.
+ Work with department manager to gather, prepare, and provide group and individual productivity feedback
+ Communicate bottlenecks or delays in production to relevant staff / departments and determine accurate timelines for completion of work
+ Implement, maintain, and audit workplace 5S
+ Coach, audit, and train manufacturing employees on procedures and process sheets in order to meet quality and ISO standards:
+ Coordinate corrective actions for quality issues and maintain implemented systems to prevent repeated nonconformance(s)
+ Manage department schedule and request / move resources as necessary:
+ Oversee training and training schedules for Manufacturing employees
+ Identify training / staffing gaps and implement a training schedule to avoid delays in production delivery
+ Schedule overtime while also avoiding excess or unnecessary overtime expenditure
+ Enforce company and departmental policies including, but not limited to, PPE requirements, employee punctuality, employee code of conduct, discipline, production schedule, etc.
+ Participate in the hiring/termination process for employees
+ Properly execute reasonable suspicion protocols to ensure the safety of all employees
+ Separate and distribute work orders to departments as assigned and coordinate expedited orders within the department
+ Conduct direct report performance evaluations and assist/review indirect report evaluations
+ Work with CPQ team:
+ Define/update setup and cycle times for all manufacturing steps
+ Define/update manufacturing limits for all manufacturing steps
+ Define manufacturing operator instructions necessary to produce quality product
+ Audit the completion of supervisor tasks and fill in as needed
+ Review organizational staffing and resource needs to ensure they are consistent and adequate
+ Interface with Engineering, Quality Control, Customer Service, and Sales to determine and implement strategic plans for product and service improvements striving to meet company goals
+ Evaluate manufacturing metrics/goals ensuring expected results are achieved
+ Define department focus, applicable metrics and goals in line with company goals:
+ Drive improvement in the department through the A3 process
+ Identify and work towards mandatory, quarterly Lean projects focused at reducing waste and improving safety, processes flow, cycle time, cost reduction, efficiencies, etc.
Physical/Environmental/Mental:
+ Must be able to lift approx. 49 lbs to waist height
+ Standing all day (90% of shift) with ability to move about the manufacturing area
+ Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
+ Manufacturing environment, including wide temperature swings and fluctuating ambient noise levels
+ Ability to calmly and effectively de-escalate interpersonal conflicts with employees and communicate actions and resolutions with Human Resources
+ Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage tight timelines
Compensation and Benefits:
+ Salary: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 based on experience
