    The Opportunity

    In this pivotal engineering leadership role, you will be responsible for a team tasked with delivering new features to Ally.ai, Ally’s cutting-edge GenAI platform. Your primary focus will be on developing and implementing new capabilities such as support for AI Agents, Agentic Workflows, and Model Context Protocol (MCP) using tools from leading Cloud and GenAI providers. These enhancements will enable Ally.ai to provide more sophisticated and efficient solutions to our users, shaping the future of GenAI at Ally.

     

    This role will require you to work closely with several peer teams on the GenAI team and with multiple groups across both business and technology. Your ability to bridge these areas will be essential in delivering industry-leading solutions that meet the diverse needs of our stakeholders and customers.

     

    Additionally, you will play a crucial role in building a new engineering team dedicated to these initiatives. This team of engineers will bring their expertise and experience to help drive the success of these projects. Your leadership will be key in fostering a collaborative and innovative environment, while managing risk and controls for the platform, ensuring that the team is aligned with the company's goals and objectives to deliver material value.

    The Work Itself

    * Act as the key connector between product, architecture, and development teams, ensuring seamless collaboration and innovation.

    * Partner with product owners to craft stories that blend technical brilliance, best practices, and just the right amount of detail.

    * Engage with a vibrant community of engineers to champion Ally.ai and gather valuable feedback on our GenAI capabilities.

    * Coordinate projects with Engineering, Tech Delivery, and Operations teams to minimize impact on development, including the creation of new development environments.

    * Drive continuous improvement through coaching, pair programming, code reviews, and the use of cutting-edge Generative AI tools.

    * Foster a strong focus on creating and maintaining high-quality deliverables and outcomes.

    * Communicate effectively with senior leadership and other development teams, keeping everyone in the loop.

    * Review resumes, conduct phone screens, facilitate on-site interviews, and help integrate new hires into their tech stack and team.

    * Meet regularly with direct reports to provide and seek feedback, ensuring everyone is on the same page.

    * Set expectations, drive accountability, and offer guidance as needed.

    * Manage time off requests and coordinate schedules to keep everything running smoothly.

    The Skills You Bring

    * 7+ years of experience preferred with 4+ years of hands-on platform and or API development required.

    * Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or other related discipline preferred.

    * Proven experience with Python, Git (GitLab), and AWS Cloud Services (specifically ECS Fargate, API Gateway, Lambda, DynamoDB).

    * A startup mentality with the proven ability to multi-task and manage several concurrent projects and initiatives.

    * A demonstrated natural curiosity and thirst for learning.

    * Experience with Project Management methodologies and tools, resource planning, and forecasting.

    * Ability to supervise staff and make personnel decisions.

    * Ability to articulate the company's business requirements and objectives and translate those into software development solutions.

    * Ability to effectively communicate software development issues and recommendations to senior level management within and outside of IT.

    * Experience engaging with executive and senior management, articulating technical strategies and results.

    * Knowledge of all phases of software development.

    An individual's position in the range is determined by the scope and responsibilities of the role, work experience, education, certification(s), training, and additional qualifications. We review internal pay, the competitive market, and business environment prior to extending an offer.

    **Experienced:** 185000

    **Expert:** 235000

     

    Incentive Compensation: This position is eligible to participate in our annual incentive plan
