Job Title: Construction Materials Technician / Special Inspector
Job Description
An emerging engineering firm in the NC Marketplace seeks Civil Engineers, Geotechnical, and/or Construction Services professionals to join the team as Engineering Technicians/Field Technicians. This role involves working in the triad market, focusing on career growth and contributing to the reputation and expansion of the triad office.
Responsibilities
+ Visit job sites and construction sites to gather samples of various soils and concrete.
+ Conduct field and laboratory testing of concrete, soil, aggregates, and asphalt.
+ Test materials in the field or transport them to the office/laboratory for analysis.
+ Perform soil, concrete, masonry, and asphalt inspections.
Essential Skills
+ High attention to detail.
+ Strong verbal and written communication skills.
+ Ability to work independently.
+ Capability to read and write reports.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ ACI certification is preferred.
+ Willingness to submit to MVR Test (for company vehicle use).
+ Previous experience in labor or field roles such as landscaping, farming, construction labor, or field service work.
+ Strong communication and personal skills.
Work Environment
The role involves accompanying a team member to job sites for the initial months, followed by independent travel in a company truck to assigned locations. The majority of work occurs outdoors and involves traveling between job sites and the office. Job sites are primarily construction sites at the beginning stages of their building process.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
