    Job Title: Lab TechnicianJob Description

     

    As a Lab Technician, you will be responsible for setting eggs according to customer or management specifications. You will record appropriate information on the order sheet, such as date, flock number, and quantity, and prepare incubation tags for each order. Monitoring temperature and humidity levels of each machine is crucial, alongside candling eggs and packing incubated egg orders to meet customer specifications. Additionally, you will select appropriate eggs for breeder stock, set eggs for flock replacement and bird sales as required, and complete and distribute all required incubation paperwork. Inputting all incubation data into the appropriate spreadsheets is also part of your duties, as well as cleaning incubators and associated equipment with appropriate solutions and performing weekly fumigation while maintaining biosecurity. You will perform environmental sampling of incubators and complete associated paperwork, along with all other related duties as assigned.

    Responsibilities

    + Set eggs according to customer or management specifications.

    + Monitor temperature and humidity levels of each machine.

    + Candle eggs and pack incubated egg orders according to customer specifications.

    + Perform all other related duties as assigned.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + High school diploma or General Education Degree (G.E.D.) preferred.

    + 2 years of work experience, preferably in a processing or poultry farm environment.

    + An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted.

    Work Environment

    This role involves frequent lifting and moving of flats of eggs weighing up to 30 pounds and regularly lifting and moving cases of eggs weighing up to 60 pounds. You must constantly position yourself to access and inspect eggs and be able to assess their condition from various distances within the incubation area. Regular operation of a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer, is required. You will regularly provide information to and receive information from various technologies, media, sources, and contacts, and must be able to accurately exchange information in these situations.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.
