    Field Service TechnicianJob Description

     

    This position involves assembling and installing transformer units, troubleshooting, and repairing transformers, as well as conducting onsite testing. Candidates with a power generation experience, particularly those who have worked with industrial-sized transformers, substations, pad mount transformer units, and residential transformer units, are highly preferred. The role consists of five different levels of field service for five different groups and requires 100% travel. Technicians will work in teams of 4-5 crew members, traveling from project to project to perform new installations, assembly, and electrical troubleshooting.

    Responsibilities

    + Receive assignments and instructions from lead and manager, both verbal and written.

    + Read, understand, and follow guidelines set forth by company procedures and blueprints when performing assigned work.

    + Select proper materials and parts for assembly operations.

    + Setup and layout materials and tools for all assembly operations.

    + Maintain the required clearances and dimensions for the voltage classifications specified.

    + Demonstrate advanced knowledge and troubleshooting experience in electrical testing and theory.

    + Demonstrate advanced knowledge and troubleshooting experience in controls.

    + Demonstrate advanced knowledge and troubleshooting experience in oil processing.

    + Understand and interpret blueprints.

    + Compose Field Reports (Daily Activity reports, etc.) and any other job site, customer-specific reports to management or customer in a timely manner.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $67000.00 - $130000.00/yr.

     

    • They do get a service vehicle, Prolec will provide them with tools/PPE, pay for fuel for vehicle, company credit card, they stay at Hiltons and IHG, per diem $52/hr per day for food• No probationary period, all Prolec GE benefits are offered right away
