Scope of Job
The Department of Primary & Community Care, Division of Women’s & Children’s Health, is seeking a full-time physician for a medical school affiliated Pediatric Developmental-Behavioral clinical practice located in the Rio Grande Valley. The faculty member is expected to maintain an outpatient clinical practice at UT Health RGV , specializing in Pediatric Developmental – Behavioral care, that may include supervision of residents and advanced practitioners and teaching of medical students.
Minimum Qualifications
Current Board certification in Pediatrics and Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics , must possess/able to obtain a valid Texas medical license, and qualified to hold a faculty appointment in the Department of Primary & Community Care. Demonstration of ability in educational and evaluation methods. Experience in managing diverse relationships and integration activities with medical staff and a strong reputation for sustained inclusive, trust-based physician relations.
Discipline Specific Required Qualifications
Completion of an ACGME approved Developmental Pediatrics Fellowship and board certification in that specialty.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in UME and GME in Pediatrics.

UTRGV is a distributed institution. As such and as assigned, the position may
require presence at multiple locations throughout the Rio Grande Valley. Work is
performed primarily in a general office environment. This position is security sensitive
and thereby subject to the provisions of the Texas Education Code
•51.215. The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of
Texas ( TRS ), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least
135 days in length. This position has the option to elect the Optional Retirement
Program ( ORP ) instead of TRS , subject to the position being 40 hours per week
and at least 135 days in length.
