    SUMMARY

    Responsible for developing and maintaining the onsite and offsite Emergency Preparedness Programs. This position will assist with the Emergency Plan, Severe Weather Plan, and support the implementation of Emergency Plan procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Assists and supports emergency planning efforts with the State of Texas and Matagorda County agencies.

     

    Spec EP Assoc

    EDUCATION

    • Bachelor degree in Emergency Management, Homeland Security, Public Affairs, Communications, Education, Chemistry, or Engineering. (Preferred)

    • Without a degree, 5 years related experience in operations, maintenance, work control, health physics, security or chemistry may be considered.

    • Associates degree in technical discipline is equivalent to 2 years related experience.

    EXPERIENCE

    • Familiarity with regulatory requirements for Emergency Preparedness activities.

    • Ability to maintain professional demeanor under pressure or during plant emergencies and perform duties for an extended period of time.

    • Ability to effectively interface with STPNOC customers and Regulators.

    • Ability to effectively communicate in written reports and verbal presentations to all levels of personnel, including senior management.

    OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Accept ERO position as needed.

    • Accept outage position as needed.

    • Ability to obtain and maintain unescorted access.

    • Successfully complete General Employee Training (GET) as required for position.

    ENVIRONMENTAL & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

    • Environmental and physical requirements require the ability to don appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for the defined role; subject to crouching, stooping, bending, twisting and/or lifting up to 30+ lbs; ascending/descending stairs; ascending, descending, traversing ladders, scaffolds, stairs; working in confined spaces; moving safely over uneven or slippery terrain; working in proximity to loud equipment and possible inclement weather/temperature conditions.

    WORKING CONDITIONS

    • Overtime and alternate work schedules as needed.

    • Subject to callouts twenty-four hours per day seven days per week.

    • Travel may be required.

    • Continuous viewing of computer monitor may be required.

    WORK LOCATION

    • Site – Due to the nature of the work, this position requires work to be performed in the field and/or at the work site.
