Job Title: Maintenance Technician
Job Description
Join a dynamic maintenance team working in the bustling environment of Union Station in Washington, DC. As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for the upkeep of the garage on the 1st shift from 5:00 AM to 1:30 PM. This role requires physical activity throughout the day in an open-air setting, with exposure to varying weather conditions.
Responsibilities
+ Change lightbulbs and perform electrical repairs, such as replacing ballasts.
+ Paint areas including bathrooms, offices, parking lines, and walls.
+ Change doorknobs, locks, and perform other minor repairs.
+ Clean up spills on the property, with a focus on oil spills.
+ Complete and update daily work order lists, and report to supervisors.
+ Perform general maintenance checks on equipment, including tire pressure, battery charging, and wipers.
+ Provide excellent customer service to all patrons.
+ Conduct basic plumbing tasks such as unclogging toilets.
+ Walk the facility to identify areas needing attention and collaborate with QA to enhance the facility.
+ Perform preventive maintenance work on equipment.
Essential Skills
+ 4+ years of maintenance experience.
+ 1+ years of experience working in different weather conditions.
+ Strong mechanical aptitude, including the ability to change ballasts and use hand tools like screwdrivers.
+ Experience with electrical and plumbing repairs.
+ Proficiency in preventive maintenance and parking garage maintenance.
+ Ability to multitask and work with work order tickets.
+ Punctuality and reliability are crucial.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Weekend availability, particularly Friday through Sunday.

Work Environment
Work in an open-air garage at Union Station, where you will be on your feet for about 8 hours a day. The environment is not air-conditioned or heated, so be prepared to work in extreme temperatures. The schedule is Sunday to Thursday, 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of WASHINGTON, District of Columbia.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $23.00/hr.
