    Office of Early Childhood Operations

     

    Job Focus Area

     

    This role, reporting to the Chief of Staff, is a crucial financial management position that will oversee all contracts and grants within the Office of Early Childhood. This will require collaborating extensively with various directors, program managers, and staff across the entire Early Childhood (EC) division to gather information for contracts, grants, and funding allocations.

    Preferred Experience:

    Experience writing state or federal contracts and/or grants is preferred.

    Minimum Qualifications

    Seven years of experience in education, teaching, or administrative services; OR

     

    Six years of full-time work experience plus four years of experience in education, teaching, or administrative services; OR

     

    A bachelor's degree plus four years of experience in education, teaching, or administrative services; OR

     

    An advanced degree plus three years of experience in education, teaching, or administrative services.

    Job Duties and Other Information

    Job Duties

    This position will be heavily involved in the following:

    + Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating agreements with partners and vendors, ensuring all terms are met and payments are processed correctly

    + Tracking contract lifecycles, renewal dates, and compliance.

    + Managing the financial aspects of school readiness tax credits, ensuring compliance with tax laws and optimizing their impact on funding for early childhood initiatives.

    + Developing grant narratives for financial proposals and meeting submission deadlines.

    + Tracking and maintaining accurate records of inventory.

    Position-Specific Details:

    Appointment Type: Probational, Promotional, or Job Appointment. The person hired for this position is expected to regularly report to the Baton Rouge office. Current permanent classified state employees may be required to accept a probationary appointment, if selected.

     

    Career Progression: This position does not participate in a Career Progression Group.

     

    Work Schedule: Work hours are Monday - Friday. Work hours will be determined.

     

    Compensation: The salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience.

     

    **Note regarding the advertised pay range: The Education Consultant series have a special entrance rate that is above the minimum hire rate for these positions. The maximum amounts listed are the maximum salary amounts a person can make over their career andnot the maximum amount we are allowed to pay a new hire .
