About this Job
This position is for a full-time, 12-month, unclassified, staff position.
Salary commensurate with credentials and experience.

Minimum Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s Degree in Kinesiology, Health and Physical Education, athletic/Sport Management or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
+ Three (3) years basketball coaching experience at the college level.
+ Minimum of one (1) year recruiting college student athletes.
+ Knowledge of NJCAA Athletic rules and regulations.
+ Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills.
+ Valid driver’s license.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
+ Must have the use of sensory skills in order to effectively communicate and interact with other employees and the public through the use of the telephone and personal contact as normally defined by the ability to see, read, talk, hear, and handle or feel objects and controls.
+ Must have physical capability to effectively use and operate various items of office related equipment such as, but not limited to, a personal computer, calculator, coper, and fax machine. Must be capable of standing, walking, moving, climbing, carrying, bending, kneeling, crawling, reaching, pushing, and pulling within the scope of assigned duties.
+ The employee may regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to maintain focus.
+ Ability to drive motor vehicle locally and out of town.

Job Specification
This position is responsible for managing the Men’s Basketball program at BPCC. The responsibilities include, but not limited to, planning, coaching and recruiting for successful outcomes for the College and student athletes.
Job Duties and Other Information
+ Manage all responsibilities of the men's basketball program at Bossier Parish Community College including planning, coaching, and recruiting.
+ Prepare all travel, check, and purchase requests specific to the basketball program for review and submission by the Director of Athletics.
+ Maintain the basketball court to ensure playing and practice areas are in top condition.
+ Schedule and administer all aspects of the team including practice, strength and conditioning, game scheduling, and game travel.
+ Maintain men's basketball equipment and supplies inventory.
+ Award and administer athletic scholarships for men's basketball student-athletes as set forth in the Policies and Procedures of the athletic department.
+ Maintain fiscal integrity of the men's basketball program by adhering to the annual budget as set forth by the administration.
+ Direct and supervise assistant men's basketball coach.
+ Ensure a commitment to the academic success of men’s basketball student athletes, including monitoring academic performance, attendance and social behavior.
+ Prepare eligibility worksheet for each student-athlete to use in submission of the eligibility report.
+ Ensure all required paperwork for each student-athlete is up to date at all times.
+ Assist athletic administration with alumni relations and other general athletic department fund-raising programs.
+ Maintain a working knowledge of LCTCS, NJCAA and BPCC rules and regulations and ensure the men's basketball program abides by these rules.
+ Represent Bossier Parish Community College at NJCAA Region 14 men's basketball meetings.
+ Complete, in a timely manner, reports and documents as required by the College, the LCTCS, and the NJCAA.
+ Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
