Job Title: Packaging Operator
Job Description
The Packaging Operator plays a vital role in ensuring customer, team member, and vendor satisfaction by performing essential production duties. This includes operating, running, and troubleshooting production equipment to support the manufacture of extended shelf life (ESL) dairy-related products.
Responsibilities
+ Achieve assigned goals in production, safety, quality, performance, and cost.
+ Set up, operate, troubleshoot, and clean all assigned equipment following standard operating procedures.
+ Clear any jam-ups and restore production line operation.
+ Set up, operate, and clean equipment such as bailer, trash compactor, and foamer, while completing required documentation.
+ Perform ongoing product quality control checks.
+ Notify others of mechanical malfunctions to enhance productivity and equipment capabilities.
+ Comply with GMP’s, SOP’s, corporate and plant policies, rules, and regulations.
+ Support all areas in the production facility as assigned and train on key areas such as fillers, forklifts, and production lines.
+ Gain competence in online circuits and learn proper hookups.
+ Cover breaks and lunches and other staffing needs as assigned.
+ Comply with legal requirements concerning dairy processing and safety.
+ Report safety concerns promptly and take corrective actions to ensure a safe environment.
+ Report food safety problems and support SQF by maintaining food safety and quality.
+ Ensure work areas are sanitary and adhere to sanitation practices.
+ Communicate effectively between shifts and departments.
Essential Skills
+ Ability to apply basic to complex mathematical concepts such as adding, counting, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing.
+ Knowledge of weights and measures to sufficiently handle job tasks.
+ Understand and respond appropriately to employee, vendor, and customer inquiries.
+ Read, write, and communicate using English language sufficient to perform job functions.
+ Knowledge of company's mission, purpose, goals, and role in achieving them.
+ Ability to operate facility equipment as required in assigned area.
+ Ability to interpret company documents, literature, and UPC/code information.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Completion of all company training requirements.
+ Special language skills preferred when there is a business need.
Work Environment
The work environment is normally protected from weather but may experience temperature changes with exposure to hot, cold, wet, and humid conditions. There may be exposure to ingredients used in the manufacture of food products, including allergens, as well as chemicals used in the manufacture and sanitation of a food processing facility.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of East Syracuse, New York.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.75 - $20.75/hr.
