    Clearance:Active DoD Secret Clearance

     

    Work Schedule:Onsite M-F. CONUS Travel <10%

    Role Overview:

    As a Technical Writer you will be a member of the United States Marine Corps (USMC) Tactical Software Engineering team, focusing primarily on researching, writing, editing, and proofreading technical data for use in technical documentation, procedures, and guidelines for C4ISR systems or equipment procedures.

     

    General Skillset

     

    + Experience with Microsoft Office

    + Verbal and written communication skills

    + Ability to work both collaboratively and individually

    + Critical Thinking Skills

    + Ability to give presentations and briefings as needed

     

    Specific Skillset

     

    + Understand how to use tools such as PageMaker, Interleaf, SGML, MSPublisher, FrameMaker, Excel, Word, and/or Visio

    + Demonstrated ability to research, edit, and write technical documents Gather information from subject-matter experts and develop technical specifications, and process documentation

    + Work with development and support leads to identify documentation repositories, revise, and edit, and determine best solutions for data compilation and centralized storage

    + Research, create, and maintain information architecture templates that adhere to organizational and legal standards and allow for easy data migration

    + Develop content in alternative media forms for maximum usability, with a consistent voice across all documentation

    Requirements

    Education & Certifications

     

    + Bachelor’s degree in journalism, English, or Technical Writing.

    Experience Requirements

    + 3-5 years of relevant experience.

    + Experience providing technical writing expertise to software-related projects is a plus.

    + Experience supporting the Unites States Marine Corps (USMC) is a plus.
