    What does a successful Payment Exceptions Manager do at Fiserv?

     

    The Settlement Controls & Solutions (SCS) team is responsible for the daily analysis, cash requirements and settlement to Fiserv clients. This team interacts with other Fiserv business units and client delivery teams. As a major component in the daily operations workflow for funds movement, the team carries a strong understanding of cash in transit and how it relates to the client’s revenue and expense reporting.

     

    As a Payment Exceptions Manager, you will oversee leading a team of analysts and ensuring the accurate and timely resolution of various exception types within Settlement Controls & Solutions (SCS). You will need to have a strong understanding of reconciling financial transaction exceptions, identifying discrepancies, and maintaining data accuracy. You will collaborate with both internal and external teams, oversee reconciliation processes, and provide strategic guidance to optimize account reconciliation processes.

    What you will do:

    + Establish proper oversight of a team responsible for the resolution of transaction discrepancies between institutions, especially in the settlement of payments exceptions.

    + Ensure daily reconciliation function are done completely and accurately.

    + Monitor and analyze reconciliation output and KPI’s for decision making purposes.

    + Contribute critical feedback on client implementations, projects, initiatives, etc. to ensure successful operationalization.

    + Promote and manage a team culture of consistent process improvement.

    + Provide guidance and coaching to team members related to day-to-day functions as well as career growth and development.

    What you will need to have:

    + Experience in payments exceptions, reconciliation, banking, or payments industry background

    + Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office 360

    + 6+ year of an equivalent combination of educational, work and/or military experience

    What would be great to have:

    + Bachelors degree

    + Knowledge of different card and debit network brands - VISA, Mastercard, AMEX, Discover, etc.

    + General accounting experience

    + Experience in conceptualizing innovative approaches to modernize processes

    + Experience working closely with internal departments to understand and address business problems and issues

    + Experience in PowerBI, or other relevant data analysis tools

    Important info about this role:

    + This role is on-site Monday through Friday. Fiserv considers in-person collaboration to be an essential part of this role as in-person office experiences help you with your overall onboarding.

    + Ability to travel up to 25%

    Salary Range:

    $76,100.00-$103,300.00

     

    These pay ranges apply to employees in Maryland. Pay ranges for employees in other states may differ. Certain Positions are Commissions eligible.
