Job Summary:
Assist in the collection and transportation of samples within the Enterprise under the guidance of the Laboratory Supervisor and Water Quality Compliance Planner. Computer data entry, customer service interactions and general housekeeping functions involved. Assist with sampling container prep. Overtime may be incurred.
Work Performed:
+ Practice laboratory and field safety procedures and practices as provided.
+ Use proper sampling procedures for all types of samples required.
+ Collect test samples, including water, soil, chemical and metal samples from distribution sites, open tanks, streams and intricate piping arrangements.
+ Assist with the collection of samples to maintain compliance with EPA’s Lead and Copper Rule.
+ Transport samples as required between subsidiaries within the Enterprise.
+ Maintain chain of custody documents and MWC report forms.
+ Perform computer data entry into spreadsheets.
+ Attend training sessions as needed.
+ Perform other related duties as required by supervisor.
+ Assist with sample and bottle preparation.
+ Maintain neat workspace areas.
Qualifications:
+ High school diploma or equivalent with at least one year high school chemistry or biology. Equivalent job related experience can be substituted.
+ Valid N.J. Motor Vehicle License.
+ Knowledge of computer skills to include Microsoft Excel/Office.
+ Detail oriented.
+ Ability to keep neat and accurate records.
+ The ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing.
Compensation & Benefits:
+ Salary Range: $35,847 – $53,770 annually, based on experience and qualifications.

Physical and Work Environment Requirements:
This position may be performed in both field and outdoor environments and requires the ability to perform the essential duties with or without reasonable accommodation. The physical and sensory demands include:
+ Frequent standing and walking, including over uneven, rough, or rocky surfaces.
+ Regular bending, crouching, and stooping to collect samples and operate equipment.
+ Reaching in multiple directions to access and manipulate tools, materials, and instruments.
+ Maintaining balance when working on uneven or unstable surfaces.
+ Frequent lifting and carrying of equipment, tools, or samples, typically up to 25 pounds, and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
+ Exposure to varying outdoor temperatures and weather conditions during fieldwork.
+ Working in proximity to moving mechanical parts, equipment, or chemicals, requiring the use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, masks, and goggles.
+ Use of close visual acuity to inspect samples, read gauges, and conduct data analysis.
+ Operation of tools, instruments, or machinery that may require clear and accurate near-range vision.
