Job Description Summary
This Senior Director role reports to the CTO for Diagnostic Cardiology (DCAR) and is responsible for defining and overseeing the execution of the algorithm strategies in support of the diagnostic electrocardiography (ECG) business.
As the Senior Director Algorithms in Diagnostic Cardiology, you will play a critical role in shaping and maintaining the algorithm portfolio which is instrumental in the delivery of clinically best-in-class algorithms and AI technologies as medical devices algorithm solutions for GE HealthCare internal and external stakeholders. You will lead a team of high-performing technologists and clinical experts to work across all DCAR product segments.

Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
+ **Drive the strategy and roadmap for ECG AI and broader AI algorithm development** , ensuring alignment with clinical needs, technological advancements, and business objectives. Shape the Algorithm Development strategic direction by evaluating current business goals, devising data-driven strategies, and establishing robust infrastructures to support objectives.
+ Partner with business leaders including GMs, CTOs, Program Directors, Product Managers, Regulatory leaders, and Quality leaders to create a collaborative working environment that drives rapid innovation and sustainable business growth.
+ **Lead cross-functional collaboration** with the Chief Scientist, Chief Medical Advisor, Global Algorithm Product Manager, and Clinical Research Manager to define long-term algorithm strategy and future roadmaps, with a particular focus on new AI technologies.
+ **Foster a culture of innovation and excellence** , mentoring a multidisciplinary team and promoting continuous learning and improvement., ensuring seamless integration and alignment across the business to achieve measurable outcomes and propel our business forward. Uphold high standards of product thinking and analytical depth within the team through strategic hiring and mentorship initiatives.
+ Maintain, build and grow a highly capable talent bench that ensures continuous growth of depth and breadth of skills, retention of best-in-class talent and motivating a team to collectively and constantly be building a network of potential Key Opinion Leaders, clinical research partners and business/technology development partners.
+ **Identify and evaluate AI algorithm partnership opportunities** , assessing both technical and clinical aspects to recommend high-impact collaborations that support segment growth and innovation. Forge collaborative strategic business partnerships and clinical research relationships. Foster a culture of continuous learning
+ **Oversee the development and lifecycle management** of a diverse portfolio of diagnostic cardiology algorithms, ensuring regulatory compliance, clinical efficacy, and market competitiveness.
Qualifications:
+ Master’s degree in a relevant field such as Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Data Science, or a related STEM degree.
+ Minimum of 12 years of experience across multiple fields including algorithm development, medical technology development, product development in the medical device industry.
+ Minimum of 5 years of experience managing direct reports and leading cross functional teams.
+ Minimum 5 years of experience developing and deploying AI/ML algorithms.
+ Willingness to work in a hybrid schedule with three days per week on-site in the GE HealthCare Waukesha, WI office
+ Ability to travel both local and global approximately 10% of the time
Desired Characteristics
+ Ph.D. is preferred and considered a strong asset, particularly with a focus on AI/ML applications in healthcare or signal processing.
+ 15+ years of overall progressive engineering work experience through a variety of program and functional leadership roles.
+ Deep understanding of ECG signal processing, diagnostic cardiology, and clinical data interpretation. Working knowledge of signal processing and AI/ML relevant to the field of computerized diagnostic ECG algorithms.
+ Strong track record of defining and executing technology strategies and product roadmaps, especially in AI-driven healthcare solutions.
+ Experience in identifying, evaluating, and managing external partnerships in AI algorithm development, clinical research, or business development.
+ Proven experience with Software as a Medical Device (SaMD) development, including regulatory standards (e.g., FDA, MDR, ISO 13485, IEC 62304).
+ Ability to lead a diverse and high performing team, with a strong understanding of servant leadership, motivation and talent development/retention and experience working in a global environment.
+ Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
