How you will make an impact:

Thermo Fisher Scientific is seeking a motivated individual to fill a role as a Sr. Manager, R&D Engineering. Being a part of the Single-use division, R&D team, you will have the opportunity to engage in the development of equipment and systems used by the manufacturers of biological-based therapeutics and vaccines in the industry.

What you will do:

Lead a diverse group of mechanical, electrical, and test lab, fostering a growth and ownership culture.

Mentor engineers to enhance their career through performance and development goals.

Communicate effectively and positively across functions to address barriers and provide solutions to obstacles

Guide engineering teams to deliver new products to the market according to priority and business needs

Develop and teach clear standards to continually improve R&D processes in developing product, promoting career growth, managing projects, and soft skills required to create a high performing team

How you will get here:

Education

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field with 8+ years’ experience, or a master’s degree with 6+ years’ experience; of engineering. Preferred 4+ years of leading engineering teams.

Experience

+ Proven record of strong leadership skills in leading multidiscipline teams

+ Strong experience in electrical system and mechanical design

+ Recommended to have strong experience in statistical test methods, product design and common engineering analysis tools

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

+ Strong interpersonal communication skills, customer relations, and technical writing.

+ Self-motivated and can work within a global organization.

+ Exhibits self awareness in leadership skills and has strong growth and ownership habits

+ Agile leadership to adapt to demands of projects, resources and competing priorities
