Position summary:
The Director of Institutional Effectiveness plays a mission critical role in enhancing the overall effectiveness of the institution. This position involves collaborating with various departments to ensure the continuous improvement of academic, administrative, and support functions. The Director is responsible for leading the College’s assessment activities, monitoring completion of strategic plan objectives, and assisting with accreditation efforts.
Position responsibilities:
+ Serve as the day-to-day leader for the College’s campus-wide institutional effectiveness process, to include annual departmental improvement planning and goal-setting, core curriculum assessment, and program review.
+ Lead assessment initiatives that promote improvement in student learning and institutional effectiveness.
+ Track and evaluate the College’s progress in meeting the institutional priorities, goals, and outcomes of the strategic plan.
+ Communicate planning and evaluation issues to campus personnel.
+ Plan and lead workshops and other development programs to facilitate faculty and staff efforts for meaningful improvement.
+ Provide support for accreditation efforts, to include writing narratives, collecting data and documentation, and reviewing reports.
+ Stay current in accreditation standards and compliance requirements, ensuring the institution remains in alignment.
+ Serve on committees consistent with functions of the job, including chairing the Institutional Effectiveness Committee and the Instructional Assessment Committee.
+ Special projects or duties as assigned.
Minimum Position Requirements:
+ Bachelor’s degree required and Master's degree preferred in a relevant field (e.g., Higher Education, Education, Educational Research, Statistics). Extensive work experience may be substituted for relevant field requirements.
+ Experience in outcomes assessment, project management, and strategic planning.
+ Knowledge of accreditation processes and standards (SACSCOC experience preferred).
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex information effectively.
+ Proven leadership in managing processes that involve employees at multiple levels of an organization.
+ Proficient in using technology for collecting information and generating reports.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:
+ Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
+ No or very limited physical effort required; however, the employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.
+ No or very limited exposure to physical risk.

+ Provide resources for safe operation of units. Create and support workplace safety.

+ Compensation for this 12-month position is $70,581.
Kilgore College does not participate in the federal Social Security program.
All full-time positions are located in Kilgore, TX. No fully work from home positions are available at this time. All employees must be available to physically present to work on the Kilgore, TX or Longview, TX Campus. Some Part-Time and Adjunct positions may be offsite but the candidate MUST live in the State of Texas.

Positions will remain open until filled. Some Adjunct and Part-Time teaching positions may remain open perpetually as the need for part time instructors fluctuates with student enrollment. Teaching positions will be required to submit official transcripts upon an offer of employment. An offer of employment will be contingent upon passing a background check. Federal law prohibits the employment of unauthorized aliens. All persons hired must submit satisfactory proof of employment authorization and identity within three (3) days of being hired. Failure to submit proof within the required time shall result in immediate employment termination. All position appointments are subject to approval by the college's Board of Trustees.
