Salary: $22 / Hour
The Behavioral Classroom Aide provides direct behavioral support to students within a classroom environment. This role involves working closely with teachers, behavioral specialists, and school staff to implement behavior intervention plans, support academic engagement, and promote positive student behavior.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Assist in the implementation of individualized behavior intervention plans (BIPs) under the guidance of behavioral specialists.
+ Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with behavioral challenges.
+ Monitor and document student behavior and progress throughout the school day.
+ Support classroom management strategies and help maintain a structured learning environment.
+ Collaborate with teachers and school staff to adapt instructional materials and strategies to meet student needs.
+ Use de-escalation techniques and crisis intervention strategies when necessary.
+ Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and professional development activities.
+ Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical and professional standards.
Minimum Requirements:
+ Education:
+ High School Diploma or equivalent (required).
+ Associate’s Degree in Behavioral Studies, Psychology, Education, or a related field (preferred).
+ Equivalent experience in behavioral support or special education settings may be considered in lieu of a degree.
+ Certifications (must be current):
+ CPR Certification.
+ TB Skin Test or Chest X-ray clearance.
+ Health Certificate (if applicable based on local/state requirements).
+ Experience:
+ Prior experience working with children or adolescents in educational or behavioral health settings is highly desirable.
+ Familiarity with behavioral intervention techniques and classroom support strategies is a plus.
Skills & Competencies:
+ Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
+ Patience, empathy, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
+ Ability to follow directions and work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
+ Basic data collection and documentation skills.
+ Commitment to student success and well-being.
