    Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

    1. Performs to service excellence standards:

    3. Cooperates and communicates effectively with all patients, families and staff.

    4. Contributes to continuous quality improvement efforts.

    5. Assists and maintains an orderly practice environment for patients and staff, adhering to established policies.

    6. Demonstrates organizational skills and appropriately prioritizes assigned work responsibilities.

    7. Responds to real or simulated emergency and/or disaster situations according to established procedures.

    8. Prepares exam rooms including cleaning, turning on computer terminals and stocks room with supplies.

    9. Works collaboratively with the health care team to assist in providing care to patients:

    Qualifications:

    _Required:_

    + High school diploma or equivalent

    + 6 months experience as a patient care tech, patient care associate, nurse tech, nursing assistant

    + For clinics with the Rural Health Designation, Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by the American Heart Association (AHA), American Red Cross (ARC), and Canadian equivalents, (MHC approved providers for the resuscitation certification) is required within 6 months of hire

    _Preferred:_

    + Completion of one of the following programs: patient care tech, nurse assistant

    + Previous experience working in a medical office.
