Tax Accountant
Who We’re Looking For
Choice Hotels, one of the world’s largest lodging franchisors, has an exciting opportunity to join our Tax Department as a Tax Accountant. This team ensures compliance with all tax laws and regulations while managing liabilities efficiently. In this role, you’ll be responsible for preparing and filing tax returns for our owned and managed hotel properties.

Your Responsibilities
+ Prepare and file tax returns and reports in a timely manner
+ Develop workpapers and schedules documenting tax adjustments
+ Ensure compliance with local and state lodging tax laws, including short-term rental and tourism taxes
+ Identify and resolve tax issues as they arise
+ Support ad-hoc tax and finance-related projects
+ Review tax data from ERP systems and confirm proper tax treatment
+ Reconcile tax accounts as needed
+ Maintain and update the tax matrix and related documentation
+ Collaborate regularly with cross-functional departments
+ Follow internal tax policies and procedures diligently
Your Experience, Skills & Competencies
+ Degree in Accounting or related field (CPA preferred)
+ Minimum 2 years of experience in corporate or public accounting (tax experience a plus)
+ Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word

Your Team
This is an individual contributor role reporting to the Tax Manager. You’ll work closely with various departments across the organization.
Your Work Location
As our Tax Accountant you will be working from St. Louis Park, MN . You will be required to connect virtually with Choice team members and leadership on video via Zoom, with possible periodic travel in-person to our beautiful, state-of-the-art worldwide offices in North Bethesda, MD, Scottsdale, AZ, or St. Louis Park, MN.
Salary Range
The salary range for this position is $56,000 to $63,000 annually.
The pay range listed is for this position and is what Choice Hotels reasonably expects to pay. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee’s pay position within the pay range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs.

Field/Remote — Select roles designated as field/remote will require associates to work from a home office, connecting virtually with Choice team members and leadership on Zoom, with possible required travel depending on the role.
