Position Title: Middle School Physical Education Teacher

Brief Description: We are seeking an enthusiastic, collaborative, and student-centered educator to join our middle school team. The ideal candidate is passionate about helping students develop the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to lead healthy, active lives.

Responsibilities include:

+ Deliver engaging and developmentally appropriate instruction in Physical Education and Health to middle school students

+ Promote lifelong fitness, teamwork, sportsmanship, and healthy decision-making

+ Develop and implement standards-based lesson plans aligned with New York State Learning Standards

+ Collaborate with colleagues, support staff, and families to promote student wellness and academic success

+ Maintain a safe, inclusive, and respectful learning environment for all students

+ Assess student progress and provide timely feedback to students and families

+ Coaching Positions available

Location(s): Boynton Middle School & DeWitt Middle School

Anticipated Start Date: 8/27/2025

+ The Ithaca City School District is a 1:1 district in grades 3-12. Please provide examples of how you have used or your vision for using digital technology in instruction. Also, please provide evidence of how you stay current with students’ digital world.

Required Qualifications:

Salary Range: $53,291-$75,191 (10-month full-time base) Based on the 24-25 ITA salary grid, a new contract is currently in negotiations.
