Job Summary

Brooks Construction Company, Inc. is seeking a reliable and self-motivated individual to serve as a Part-Time, Seasonal Courier during our busy season. This seasonal role plays a critical part in supporting operations across our various plant locations by ensuring timely and accurate delivery of documents, parts, and materials from our main office, shop and lab.

Essential Job Duties/Responsibilities

+ Serves as a company courier, traveling to all asphalt plants and other necessary locations twice a week typically on Tuesdays and Thursdays

+ Retrieves and organizes essential documents, equipment parts, and other items needed for delivery

+ Delivers collected items to the appropriate locations efficiently and on schedule, ensuring materials and information flow seamlessly across operations

+ Maintains clear communication with office and plant personnel to confirm pick-ups and deliveries

+ Adapt to changes in schedule or routing as needed

Other Duties/Responsibilities

+ Assists others in department as needed

+ Performs other related duties as assigned

Required Skills and Abilities

+ Maintains a valid driver's license and clean driving record; uses a company vehicle to travel up to 70-mile radius from home office

+ Maintains compliance with company Drug-Free & Alcohol-Free Workplace policies

+ Demonstrates strong attendance, punctuality, reliability, and work ethic

+ Ability to complete deliveries in a timely manner

+ Possess excellent organizational and time-management skills

+ Familiarity with local and regional geography is a plus

Education and Experience

+ High school diploma or GED preferred, but not required

+ Previous experience in a courier, delivery, or driving-related role is a plus, but not required

Physical Requirements

+ Lifting/Carrying : Up to 25 lbs. frequently

+ Pushing/Pulling : Up to 25 lbs. occasionally

+ Driving : Regular driving of automatic transmission vehicles

+ Movement Requirements : Frequent sitting, walking, climbing, and occasionally standing, bending, squatting, twisting, and reaching above shoulder level

+ Use of Hands : Frequent use of hands for grasping and handling materials

Working Environment

+ This role involves regular travel and may require exposure to various weather conditions.

+ The courier is expected to follow all safety and traffic regulations and represent Brooks Construction professionally during all deliveries.
