Job Summary
The Sr. Program Manager will be responsible executing large scale, complex, enterprise data initiatives utilizing Vistra’s program management methodology. They will be responsible for delivering results aligned with the business’s requirements and priorities, mentoring junior team members, as well as delivering and ensuring project organization, communication, and quality delivery. The Sr. Program Manager will interact regularly with executives and must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Job Description
Key Accountabilities
+ Perform project and program management functions, including, but not limited to coordination/creation of business requirement / user story documentation, project scheduling, effort estimation, and work execution / release planning.
+ Provide summarized status for all major programs and projects to executive stakeholders, including updates on activities, deliverables, budget, risks, issues and mitigation strategies.
+ Advise leadership of program/project, status, risks, and resource planning for strategic initiatives.
+ Assume a leadership role in educating the business, vendors and technical community on project and program management methodologies, processes and procedures.
+ Consult with individual project managers/leaders on emergent practices, processes and methodologies to ensure they are understood and followed to promote the consistent delivery of quality solutions; help the project team understand how their individual project’s objectives tie to overall strategic goals.
+ Ensure the continuous improvement of the program management methodology, processes and policies in order to maximize the benefits and minimize risk of future projects and support Vistra IT long- and short-term goals.
+ Work directly with senior leadership to define, monitor and reinforce team culture, norms and operating practices.
Education, Experience, & Skill Requirements
+ Bachelors degree or higher in business, communications, or technology related field, or equivalent experience.
+ 10+ years of project/program management experience leading large scale projects or enterprise initiatives.
+ Must have demonstrated experience with and a passion for project and program management concepts and techniques, including Agile and Waterfall.•Exceptional ability to communicate (verbally and written) with all types of stakeholders and senior management.
+ Experience in an outsourced technology and/or consulting environment.
+ Ability to learn quickly, be self motivated to improve knowledge and tackle new challenges.
+ Exceptional organizational skills, communication skills, and attention to detail required.
+ Professional certification (e.g., PMP, CCMP, CSM) a plus.
Key Metrics
+ Timely, accurate project status updates including issues and risks.
+ Accurate work plans / execution timelines
+ Reliability of artifacts (user stories, testing, etc.) to document the solution
+ Stakeholder satisfaction
+ Financial management (timely and accurate true ups, budget and forecast measurement)
Familiarity of Data Applications, Programs, and Projects.
