Job Description:
The UW Genetic Risk and Neurodevelopment Lab in the Department of Psychology will be hiring a full time Research Technologist 2 responsible for assisting with genetic, behavioral, passive sensing, and neuroimaging data processing and analyses, and for setting up genetic and neuroimaging data processing pipelines using existing software packages on UW’s high-performance compute cluster.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
+ Create wrapper scripts to implement genomic and neuroimaging data processing software on UW compute cluster
+ Assisting other lab members with the creation of data processing and analysis scripts
+ Create documentation for data processing and analysis pipelines
+ Under supervision, carry out data processing and analyses
+ Perform related duties as required **MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS**
+ Bachelor's Degree in an appropriate field of technology or science,
+ PLUS one year of research experience equivalent to Research Technologist I OR one year of full-time post-baccalaureate college in an appropriate field of science or technology. Professional level experience may be substituted, year-for-year, for the formal academic degree. **ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS**
+ Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
+ Experience utilizing Linux command line-based tools and software packages.
+ Prior programming and/or data analysis experience with bash scripting, R, and/or python. **DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS**
+ Prior research experience or interest in genetics or neuroscience of human traits is desirable.
