The Graduate Programs Office has an outstanding opportunity for a DIRECTOR - GRADUATE PROGRAMS to join their team.
The Director of Graduate Programs oversees the functioning of the Graduate Programs Office in the School of Business. The primary responsibilities of the director are to increase the enrollment in the School’s credit-bearing graduate programs; lead process improvement initiatives and ensure effective implementation; identify and implement new recruitment strategies; supervise the efficient and effective working of the Office and the employees therein; ensure compliance with University policies; and provide insights and recommendations to the School’s leadership and faculty on graduate education.
This is a critical position for the University and the School as they seek to expand graduate offerings. To bring in more students, deliver programs to meet student and employer needs through a responsive and efficient graduate office, this position of the director, requiring a high level of responsibility and the ability to implement and drive strategic initiatives as determined by the School’s leadership to ensure the growth and success of graduate programs.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Leadership
+ Lead the Graduate Programs Office (GPO) in ensuring the successful delivery of academic programs at various locations through different modalities to all categories of students
+ Review, develop/revise, and implement procedures and processes to ensure effective and reliable program delivery and ensure student success. Ensure stakeholders’ experience is consistent with expectations for business school graduate education. Stakeholders include prospective students, admitted students, enrolled students, guest speakers, employers, alumni, etc.
+ Guide, supervise, and support all members of the GPO in effectively discharging their responsibilities; managing workload, performance, training, mentoring, and performance appraisal of direct reports
+ Stay abreast of the routine working of the GPO, anticipate and independently address issues that arise
+ In collaboration with the School’s leadership, represent the School in campus/University-wide discussions/committees on graduate education and serve as a liaison to other offices as needed.
+ As appropriate, represent the School to external entities on matters pertaining to graduate education and graduate recruiting.
+ Partner with the school leadership to maintain up-to-date budgets in relation to the School’s fee-based graduate program(s)
+ Participate in the School’s Graduate Council.
+ Is responsible for managing the partnership with EAB on behalf of the School. Attend weekly meeting with external partners from EAB on recruiting, identify ways to leverage the work of EAB, connect EAB efforts to the School’s broader recruiting strategy for graduate programs, oversee and communicate outcomes and effectiveness, and update school leadership on progress.
+ Is responsible for conceptualizing and proposing program launch plans and managing and executing successful implementation when launching new programs.
+ Advise the School’s leadership on the functioning of the GPO and about emergent issues in graduate education
+ Motivate and lead the staff in working as a cohesive team to implement Unit goals
+ Oversee successful planning and implementation graduate events (offsite courses/retreats, graduation celebrations, workshops with corporate partners, corporate visits, etc.) **Recruitment and Enrollment**
+ In partnership with the School’s leadership, use data and judgement to propose enrollment targets for the various graduate programs
+ Recommend and execute recruitment and marketing strategies and oversee development. Seek and proactively engage in opportunities to build brand awareness around the graduate programs. Oversee development and implementation of outreach live events, such as individual and corporate engagement, to reach prospective students
+ Ensure all public facing (e.g., website, information brochures, and social media) information about graduate programs, program outcomes, application procedures and materials, etc., are always current and up to date
+ Implement a communications strategy using SLATE to effectively drive program event attendance and application and student matriculation goals.
+ Responsibly manage the marketing budget in compliance with University policies
+ Ensure timely and accurate response to prospective student enquiries and follow up as needed
+ Ensure graduate admission (portals and processes) is run in a timely, effective, and responsive manner. **Program Operations, Accreditation, and Data Collection**
+ Ensure familiarity with the content of the academic programs, requirements for admission and program completion, dates, and deadlines, university policies regarding graduate education, availability of and eligibility for scholarships and other awards, and related matters, so as to be able to convey to prospective students and other constituencies
+ Collect and analyze information on student satisfaction, trends in graduate business education, and use market intelligence to inform the School’s leadership on its graduate program offerings and practices and inform decision making.
+ Stay uptodate on AACSB standards, as they pertain to graduate education; keep faculty and School leadership informed of changes. Monitor progress towards meeting “assurance of learning” goals and provide regular reports
+ Systematically collect, analyze, and provide reports on graduate programs’ enrollments, projections, trends, and graduation outcomes of alumni and be responsible for the archiving of information.
+ Collaborate with the University’s Alumni office to maintain updated information on graduate programs alumni.
+ Oversee implementation of student advising and student success **Other**
+ Serve as a backup when any team member is on leave/absent
+ Other tasks as assigned **MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:**
+ Master's in business administration, or related field, and at least 3 years of experience with managing graduate academic programs.Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration. **ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:**
+ Leadership experience as a supervisor
+ Evidence of problem-solving skills
+ Excellent communication (spoken, written, and nonverbal) and interpersonal skills **DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:**
+ Familiarity with a University’s Graduate School policies and procedures

+ Microsoft Office Suite, Work Day, etc. **CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:**
+ Position reports to the Associate Dean for Administration
+ Position supervises Program Operations Specialist, Graduate Academic Advisor, and student employees
+ Office space provided for in-person interactions; some telecommuting possible
