    Your Opportunity

     

    We have an immediate need for an on-call health and safety professional. The location for this position is Northern California, preferably in the Sacramento Metro or Fresno area. The successful candidate will perform safety observations and support project teams that assist Stantec’s clients to meet safety regulatory requirements and maintain effective management systems.

    Your Key Responsibilities

    + Daily communication with field staff and documentation of client and Stantec-specific safety requirements

    + Tracking safety requirements and preparing reports/deliverables for clients and project teams

    + Review and understand the application of Stantec and client safety requirements, Federal and California OSHA regulations, and environmental requirements

    + Assisting in the development and communication of safety compliance programs

    + Supporting performance of environmental, health and safety regulatory compliance and program audits

    + Interacting with project managers, EHS team members, and clients to meet task and budget requirements

    + Perform safety observations of contractors, project managers, and others. The observations will occur to support contractor onboarding, safety observation and human performance coaching where appropriate.

    + Travel may be required for the purpose of conducting safety assessments, on-site EHS support, or for off-site meetings with clients and/or regulatory agencies

    Your Capabilities and Credentials

    + Strong attention to detail and strong analytical skills

    + Practical ability to analyze technical data, perform research, demonstrate technical knowledge, and problem solve

    + Strong interpersonal and communications skills

    + Strong report and procedure writing skills

    + Ability to work to tight deadlines with daily required tasks

    + Ability to work in a team setting and individually

    + Proficiency with Microsoft Office® products and web-based applications

    + An interest in and/or an understanding of Behavior-Based Safety Programs and Risk Mitigation

    + An interest in and/or experience with development and implementation of safety programs and procedures

    + This position may require the successful passing of a pre-employment physical and drug screen. Annual and/or random drug screening may be required by some clients.

    Education and Experience

    + Bachelor's Degree in Science, Engineering, or Occupational Health is preferred

    + 3-5 years of relevant experience in an EHS field, construction safety field, and/or Behavior-Based Safety Program development and management role

    + OSHA 30-hour construction industry certification or 10-hour construction safety certification recommended

    + Desire to acquire Certified Safety Professional (CSP), or Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) (or similar) certification

    Pay Range:

    • Locations in CO, HI, MD & Various CA, NJ Areas - Min Salary $ 91,500.00 - Max Salary $ 132,700.00

    **Pay Transparency:** In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.

    **Benefits Summary:** Regular full-time and part-time employees (working at least 20 hours per week) have access to medical, dental, and vision plans, a wellness program, health saving accounts, flexible spending accounts, 401(k) plan, employee stock purchase program, life and accidental death & dismemberment (AD&D) insurance, short-term/long-term disability plans, emergency travel benefits, tuition reimbursement, professional membership fee coverage and paid family leave.
