• Battery Test Engineer

    Description

    SAIC is looking for a **Battery Test Engineer** to support the US Navy in **Crane, IN** .

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

    + Support airborne lot testing, and space applications, including programming files as well as supporting some vibration testing

    + Become proficient in proper battery test methods, i.e. monitoring points, switching, circuit protections, wattage management, time correlation, etc.

    + Apply logical/practical physicist application focus, not theoretical focus

    + Perform Big Data analysis to obtain predictive analysis, identify indicators of known and emerging failure modes as well as better predict end of life characteristics of lithium-ion aircraft as well as space cells/batteries and chemistries of all batteries

    + Assist other analysts in using these analytic platforms on occasion

    + Present findings, approaches, and processes to the team

    Qualifications

    REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND CLEARANCE:

    + Bachelor's degree and 2 or more years’ experience; Masters and 0 years’ experience

    + Must be able to communicate effectively with all levels of personnel and work well independently and as part of a team

    + Interim secret clearance required to start with the ability to obtain a secret clearance. SAIC will sponsor the process

    + US Citizenship

    DESIRED EXPERIENCE:

    + Use of LabView and MatLab, C++ Prior experience supporting DoD and/or NSWC Crane

    + Computer Science strengths preferred to develop and maintain data pipelines using Power BI, R, Python, SQL, etc. to analyze data and implement quality control checks

    + Use GitHub and Microsoft DevOps to implement version control of the created code

    + Ability to apply Physicist and Electrical Engineering skills to testing (not theoretical)
