Our physician led medical group enjoys an excellent reputation with patients and the medical community, offering primary care, urgent care and more than 30 different specialties. *Job Description* The Technologist II must meet the requirements for the Technologist level I. Under general supervision, the EMG Technologist II records, by means of electronic equipment, neurophysiologic potentials for the diagnosis and prognosis of diseases and conditions involving the nervous system. This position demonstrates competence and works under indirect supervision (Electrodiagnostic [EDX] Supervisor or physician must be immediately available for assistance during all procedures). The Technologist II performs routine, as well as more advanced, Nerve Conduction Study (NCS) testing on both common and uncommon nerves; recognizes clinically significant waveforms; follows policy and procedures established by the AANEM and laboratory protocol; and communicates with team members. They may be actively involved in the AANEM laboratory accreditation process. The Technologist II should possess knowledge of neuromuscular disease processes. * Adheres to training regarding ethical responsibilities, confidentiality, and HIPAA compliance. Conforms to all OSHA and JCAHO, and HHC laboratory policies and procedures (including guidelines for universal precautions) as well as hospital regulations. Knows CDC guidelines. * Files print or electronic medical records according to laboratory policies and procedures. * Pre-Study Procedures: Perform comprehensive assessment, obtain patient health information and additional information from medical records and patient/caregivers in order to plan recording strategies and avoid adverse effects. Explain the testing procedure to patient/caregivers in a manner consistent with their ability to understand in order to establish rapport and elicit cooperation. * High School or GED and graduate of program * An Associates degree or higher preferred, or successful completion of a CAAHEP-accredited neurodiagnostic program preferred * Three (3) years clinical EDX experience as a registered technologist, performing complex EDX evaluations. * At least 1 year experience precepting Techs We take great care of careers.
