What you'll do...

As a Staff Engineer, you will set the tone of engineering-excellence and drive processes and standards within the team. You will lead from the front designing, developing and converting the business problem and vision to a software solution & bring life to it. Keeping AI Focussed vision and practicing the same you will undertake on the development of exciting new features. In addition, you will partner with your senior and junior teammates throughout the software development lifecycle to cultivate a reciprocal learning environment from development to debugging and operational excellence.
The team is a part of Compliance which will need to work on exports and imports helping the trade business.

What you'll do:
+ Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including developers, architects, and operations to identify performance bottlenecks, system issues, and areas for optimization.
+ Conduct thorough performance analysis of Java-based applications through profiling, monitoring, and benchmarking to identify performance degradation and suggest improvements.
+ Deep dive into the codebase to understand the root causes of performance issues, including resource contention, memory leaks, and suboptimal algorithms.
+ Develop and execute performance testing strategies to simulate real-world scenarios, stress-test system components, and uncover performance limitations.
+ Work hands-on to Design, implement, and execute for business capabilities to unleash the potential .
+ fine-tune system parameters, configurations, and resource allocation to achieve optimal performance results.
+ Collaborate with development teams to provide guidance and recommendations on code optimizations, caching strategies, and concurrency enhancements.
+ Utilize performance monitoring and profiling tools to track and analyze system behavior, and proactively address potential bottlenecks staying focussed on strict CI-CD and other guardrails.
+ Stay current with emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices related to Java performance and distributed systems.
+ Ensure the delivery of high-quality, scalable, and resilient systems that meet business goals and customer needs.
+ Participate in code reviews, architectural discussions, and troubleshooting sessions to ensure the highest standards of development.
+ Drive a culture of accountability, ownership, and inclusivity within the team.

Excellent Problem-Solving Skills: Staff engineers are expected to tackle some of the most challenging problems in the organization. This requires exceptional analytical skills, creativity, and the ability to develop innovative solutions that are scalable, efficient, and effective.
Effective Communication and Collaboration: Strong communication skills are necessary to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and effectively negotiate and resolve conflicts. This also includes the ability to listen to and incorporate diverse perspectives and feedback.

Live Better U is a Walmart-paid education benefit program for full-time and part-time associates in Walmart and Sam's Club facilities. The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00-$220,000.00
Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
