Data Engineer Responsibilities:
1. Design, build, and launch data pipelines to move data across a number of platforms including data warehouse, online caches, and real-time systems and build the next generation of data tools that generate business insights for a product.
2. Analyze user needs and software requirements to determine workability and to offer support for end users on data usage.
3. Design, architect, and develop software and data solutions that help product and business teams make data-driven decisions.
4. Rethink and influence strategy and roadmap for building efficient data solutions and scalable data warehouse plans.
5. Leverage data and business principles to solve large scale web, mobile and data infrastructure problems.
6. Design, develop, test, and launch new data models and processes into production, and provide support.
7. Leverage homegrown extract, transform, and load (ETL) framework as well as off-the-shelf ETL tools, as appropriate.
8. Interface closely with Data Infrastructure, Product, and Engineering teams to build and extend cross platform ETL and reports generation framework.
9. Identify data infrastructure issues and drive to resolution.

10. Requires a Bachelor’s degree (or foreign degree equivalent) in Information Systems Management, Information Technology, Computer Science or related field.
11. Requires completion of university-level coursework, a research project or an internship involving the following:
12. 1. Programming in Python or Java
13. 2. SQL
14. 3. Workflow management engines including Airflow, Luigi, Prefect, Dagster, Digdag.IO, Google Cloud Composer, AWS Step Functions, Azure Data Factory, UC4, Control-M
15. 4. Data Modeling skills including knowledge of database systems
16. 5. Custom ETL design, implementation and maintenance and
17. 6. Cloud or On-Prem Big Data/MPP Analytics Platform including Netezza, Teradata, AWS Redshift, Google Bigquery, or Azure Data Warehouse.
Public Compensation:
$140,467/year to $154,660/year + bonus + equity + benefits
