Summary:

The Bits to Experience Product Test Engineering Team team at Meta focuses on inventing new metrology and characterization methods for AR displays to move the state-of-art display and optical technologies forward for AR products, which gives people the power to build community and bring the world closer together. Our team is looking for an experienced Display Test Engineer who will work with cross functional teams to define the requirements, lead the development, qualification and implementation of both optical metrology and semiconductor electrical test solution for characterizing displays in AR products.

Required Skills:

Display Test Engineer Responsibilities:

1. Define, design and develop optical metrology including hardware engineering, test software and instrument qualification

2. Define, design and develop semiconductor electrical driver and measurement solution including hardware engineering, test software and instrument qualification

3. Develop benchtop and production instrumentation to characterize complex optical metrics and electrical specs

4. Collect and perform statistical analysis on metrology data to correlate to performance metrics

5. Explore novel optical metrology technologies and work with suppliers on prototype development

6. Lead full cycle of tester development against engineering requirement specifications. Take complete ownership of transferring metrology technologies from R&D to mass production

7. Establish and perform tester alignment and calibration procedures and ensure testers are performing as intended and providing accurate data

8. Work with engineering design team(s) to clarify/refine performance metric definition for test solution implementation

9. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, manufacturing, and quality assurance, to ensure successful product development and launch

Minimum Qualifications:

10. BS degree in Optical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics or a related technical discipline with 5+ years of experience or Advanced Degree in Optical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics or a related technical discipline with 3+ years of experience

11. Hands-on experience in optical metrology development from concept to system validation

12. In-depth knowledge of imaging optics, optical metrology and characterization

13. Hands-on experience in semiconductor or electrical board test development from concept to implementation

14. In-depth knowledge of digital logic, mixed signal, microprocessors and semiconductor devices

15. Experience in test automation (instrument control, data collection and analysis) using Python, C#, LabView or Matlab

16. Previous experience in the AR/VR field

17. Familiarity with display silicon testing

18. Familiarity with optics or optical engineering

19. In-depth knowledge of Design of Experiments (DOE) methodology, Design for Six Sigma (DFSS), Measurement System Validation, Volume Data Analysis

20. Experience in image processing and algorithm development

21. Experience in Zemax, Code V, LightTools, FRED or other optical design/simulation tools

22. Expertise in ATE Equipment programming (e.g. Teradyne UltraFLEX, Advantest 93k)

23. Willingness to travel up to 30% to support business needs

Public Compensation:

$111,000/year to $164,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
