    General Summary

    Serves as a member of the Performance Improvement team supporting WellSpan's journey toward high reliability. Catalyzes a continuous improvement culture. Part of a high-performing team, partnering with system and regional leaders to achieve operational excellence by supporting strategic, complex improvement projects that deliver sustained and measurable results. Supports knowledge transfer of process improvement methods and practices through facilitation, training, and development of the workforce at all levels of the organization.

    Essential Functions:

    + Responsible for coordinating the performance improvement efforts at all levels within the assigned region or service line. Assures alignment and cascading of the strategy goals and efforts at all levels of the organization.

    + Serves as subject matter expert, coach, and advisor to leaders and frontline teams to promote performance improvement principles, best practices, and tools.

    + Prioritizes, directs, and facilitates performance improvement team support of regional, entity, department, and/or service line performance improvement efforts.

    + Collaborates with Human Experience, Patient Safety, Accreditation, licensure, Quality, and Innovations teams to ensure alignment, promote synergy, highlight interdependence and interconnectedness of all system strategies, and drive toward achieving all system goals.

    + Develops, implements, and maintains performance improvement-related metrics and summaries that reflect progress toward system goals. Provides regular reports to entity/regional teams and the Manager and Senior Director of Performance Improvement.

    + Mentors and provides appropriate direction to both Associate, Advisor, and Sr. Advisor, Performance Improvement team members for development and growth.

    + Promotes strong cooperation and alignment with stakeholders across the assigned region. Serves as the primary relationship owner between regional leadership and the LEAN Team.

    + Demonstrates LEAN behaviors that help support improvement practice among team members to promote safe, coordinated, effective, and efficient care for our patients.

    + Proactively identifies areas of process opportunity and innovation. Prioritizes, directs, and facilitates regional portfolio management and continuous learning to ensure success in LEAN healthcare initiatives. Bring together multidisciplinary stakeholders in a collaborative environment to solve problems. Serves as coach, teacher, and facilitator of LEAN principles tools and assists with stakeholders' application of LEAN thinking and methods to solve problems.

    + Facilitates kaizen planning, events, sustained improvement efforts, results, and drift management by managing post-event process observations and continued PDSA.

    + Ensures organization-wide LEAN assessments are conducted and evaluated for improvement.

    + Develops, implements, and maintains LEAN healthcare and improvement-related metrics and reports that reflect the progress and sustainability of LEAN across the enterprise. Provides regular progress reports to the regional team and Sr. Director.

    Common Expectations:

    + Recommends staffing levels, selects, and assigns staff, evaluates performance, evaluates/tests competencies (as applicable), provides orientation, training, and continuing staff education, and initiates or makes recommendations for personnel actions.

    + Develops, establishes, and implements goals, objectives, policies, and procedures for department/service line/entity operation, and which guide and support the provision of the department/service line/entity's services.

    + Continuously assesses and improves the department/service line/entity/System's performance. Maintains appropriate quality control/assessment programs (if applicable).

    + Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to keep abreast of the latest trends in the field of expertise.

    + Provides outstanding service to all customers; fosters teamwork; and practices fiscal responsibility through improvement and innovation.

    Travel Requirements:

    + Estimated Amount: - Remote/Hybrid with travel to site required when necessary.

    Qualifications

    Minimum Education:

    + Bachelors Degree Required

    + Masters Degree Preferred

    Work Experience:

    + 3 years Healthcare experience, including Management, Performance/Process Improvement, Business Management, Clinical Management, or related fields. Required

    + Clinical experience and/ or healthcare leadership with Lean and/or Six Sigma training. Preferred

    Licenses:

    + Advanced Lean Certification Upon Hire Preferred

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    + Expertise with Microsoft Office and statistical software for analysis and presentations.

    + Experience with EPIC health information management system, and organizational skills are a plus.

    + Ability to work remotely with limited disruption.
