Product Design Engineer Responsibilities:

1. Lead the mechanical design for a particular component (including opto-mechanical systems), feature or system while having end-to-end product development understanding.

2. Contribute to mechanical design solutions as part of a highly cross-functional team.

3. Model, build, test, refine prototypes, and characterize component and subsystem designs.

4. Work across the full product development cycle, from concept inception to shipping product.

5. Collaborate and manage work with Asia-based Suppliers.

6. Push state-of-the-art technologies and approaches to solving complex mechanical problems while working with cross-functional technical teams.

7. Domestic and international travel required to external vendors up to 20%.

Minimum Qualifications:

8. Requires a Bachelor's degree (foreign degree equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or related field and 3 years of experience in the job offered or related field.

10. 1. Mechanical CAD systems

11. 2. Mechanical engineering fundamentals including Design for Manufacturability (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), statistical tolerance analysis techniques, functional dimensioning, GD&T, and 3D/2D CAD

12. 3. Prototyping techniques

13. 4. General Manufacturing process of high-volume manufacturing techniques (stamping, machining, 3D printing, injection molding, etc.)

14. 5. Designing consumer electronics, including some opto-mechanical subsystems and similar.

Public Compensation:

$171,859/year to $189,200/year + bonus + equity + benefits
