    This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Austin, TX or Warren, MI three times per week, at minimum [or other frequency dictated by the business if more than 3 days].

    The Role:

    As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be responsible for executing the plan for design, development, testing, and automation of intelligent manufacturing application software using Scala, Java, Python, MS SQL Server, Kafka/Pulsar, Junit, etc. within Azure Cloud and on-prem. Work cross functionally with design, shared services, product, systems, and program teams to ensure all pieces come together and release of quality software products on time.

     

    In this technical leader role, you will help develop and lead strategic action plans to support business goals working closely with manufacturing business. Embrace agile software development practices that will enable you to grow your team's capability for the future with a focus on speed, quality, and safety. You will be using the agile concepts to empower your team to innovate and grow technology.

    What you’ll do:

    + Enable teams to design and develop in Azure Databricks cloud platform to support Intelligent Manufacturing.

    + Facilitate cross functional collaboration with architecture and design, product, safety, systems, and other groups within and outside the company to implement predictive maintenance models.

    + Support existing applications that are based on SQL Server using SSIS, Python, SQL, involving massive amount of data

    + Participate in on-call rotation to support operational cadence.

    + Mentor, coach and develop employees.

    + Lead automation activities at every level

    + Execute resource planning for required activities.

    Additional Job Description

    Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications):

    + Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Software, Computer Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent fields

    + Minimum of 5 years of experience leading engineering teams that develop both structured query and significant object-oriented analysis, design, and programming.

    + Proficient in using Java, Python, SQL, Spark, Kafka/Pulsar

    + Experience using SQL Server Management Studio, Visual Studio, IntelliJ, test tools, JUnit, Query analyzer, performance tuning, DevOps CI/CD pipeline, Jira, Github and Github actions

    + Demonstrated expertise managing teams that deploy modern design patterns and scalable, reusable code.

    + Demonstrated results in successful project execution.

    + Excellent multi-functional communication and leadership skills - able to get multiple teams moving in the same direction.

    + Demonstrated ability to deal with ambiguity while driving timely decision making.

    What Will Give You A Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications):

    + 3+ years of engineering experience developing in Azure or AWS or GCS experience and or Databricks cloud platform.

    + Performance Tuning and Optimization of Spark/Scala jobs

    + Leadership experience developing and testing cloud-based applications using Databricks, Scala, PySpark

    + Ability to manage and lead multiple teams with autonomy and accountability for results.

    + Demonstrated ability to achieve results through effective teamwork, lead numerous projects with different focal areas to successful completion, and manage and measure work through metrics, data, and results.

    + Experience managing a global team that is geographically dispersed.

    + High level of understanding of GM Manufacturing process and Plant floor devices a plus

    + Experience in Monitoring and Observability

    + Real Time API for accessing Large Data from Cloud

     

    This job may be eligible for relocation benefits.

    Compensation:

    + The expected base compensation for this role is: $134,000 - $205,000. Actual base compensation within the identified range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.

    + **Bonus Potential:** An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance, job level, and individual performance.
