The Assembly Technician 1 is responsible for basic assembly, and installation of truck and trailer mounted equipment. They will perform basic repetitive assembly and install with usage of tooling, equipment, and process management. This role will provide collaboration for the service department team to achieve customer satisfaction for services rendered.

KEY OBJECTIVES

Essential Job Functions
• Job orders, plans work procedures and will review with the Assembly Technician 3 for approval.
• Applies protection to vehicle ensuring interior and exterior; inspects the vehicle for cleanliness prior to returning the vehicle to the customer.
• Documents work performed with accuracy and timeliness; will review with the Assembly Technician 3 for approval.
• With assistance, installs and troubleshoots basic 12VDC electrical components.
• With assistance, preforms Class 1-8 vehicle equipment installations.
• With assistance, installs components with consistency and inspects critical fittings in the assembly process.
• Advises customer and/or service writer of any repairs or services which should be performed within the next 3 months.
• Reviews with Assembly Technician 3 the performed assembly work to ensure a defective free service prior to final quality control inspection.
• Assists with tagging warranty parts and returns and sending them to the warranty department.

Education and/or Experience
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Minimum 3 months' of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Other Skills and Abilities Required
• Familiarity with the proper and safe use of hand and air operated tools.
• Clean and maintains an orderly stall and general work areas.
• Maintains safe work environment.
• Assists with responding to customer inquiries regarding the work performed.
• Understands operation and use of a welder and a cutting torch.
• Problem-solving skills.
• Time management skills.
• Manual dexterity.
