The Director of TRIO Student Support Services is responsible for overseeing the TRIO/Student Support Services Grant, funded by the U.S. Department of Education. This includes planning and coordinating program activities, supervising personnel, and reporting related to the proper application of grant provisions and fiscal management. The TRIO 5-year grant is currently approved through 08/31/2030. Employment is contingent upon continued grant funding.
Principle Responsibilities
**1.** Lead, supervise, and direct department personnel to effectively perform assigned work and accomplish project objectives within budgetary constraints..
**2.** Monitor, evaluate, and report on all aspects of the grant to ensure that the program operates in compliance with all terms and conditions.
**3.** Plan, organize, and coordinate implementation of the activities, services, and operations of the TRIO Student Success Services Grant.
**4.** Perform other duties as assigned to ensure the smooth functioning of the department and maintain the reputation of the organization as a viable business partner.
Minimum Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Counseling, or relevant field.
+ Two (2) or more years of experience providing supervisory experience (program, staff and budget).
+ One (1) or more years of direct work experience with grant funded programs and budgets.
+ One (1) or more years of experience providing supportive services to underrepresented and diverse student populations such as first generation, low-income, students of color, ESL, and students with disabilities.
+ Familiarity with federal grant guidelines, finances and reporting.
Preferred Qualification
+ Master’s Degree in Education, Counseling, or relevant field.
+ One (1) or more years of experience supervising a TRIO program, preferably Student Support Services (SSS).
+ Experience in overcoming educational barriers like those faced by TRIO students.
+ Training on issues of poverty, diversity and disability, and how they impact education.
+ Familiarity with data collection, analysis and data-based decision-making (i.e. Blumen Online TRIO or other database management systems).
+ Bilingual/multilingual fluent in Spanish, Karen, Karenni, Somali, Pohnpeian, French, Nuer, Anuak, or other languages that reflect our student body, workforce, and communities.
+ Demonstrated experience working with a multicultural and underserved populations.
