    Position Summary:

    Under the direction of the Controller, the Financial Analyst is responsible for participating in the preparation of the annual budget, financial statements, statistical reports, and other financial information, as assigned.

    Duties:

    Responsible for the preparation of the annual operational budget. This includes statistical, revenue, and expense forecasting, allocation of departmental expenses, and consolidation for presentation. Also includes data management within the accounting system, monthly financial reports, departmental responsibility reports, and other financial reports as identified. Assist with generating and developing supporting schedules and documentation as part of month-end close, annual financial statement audits, cost report preparation. Also responsible for generating reports, compiling support data and responding to information requests from internal and external stakeholders. Responsible for oversight and assistance with month-end close processes. This includes analysis of trends of statistics, revenue and expenses. Responsible for accurate preparation of reconciliations, accruals, journal entries, and other information as needed. Will guide, review, and approve accounting staff reconciliations and journal entries as part of month-end closing. Responsible for accurate preparation and reporting of weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports as needed by management. Serves as a key resource to support the departmental functions and assist the accounting staff.

     

    Skills/Critical Competencies: Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment Attention to detail to ensure accurate and timely information. Understanding of how to communicate difficult/sensitive information, tactfully to all levels of staff within the organization. Proficiency in data analytics and technology such as all Microsoft tools. Self-directed and motivated; ability to work independently on most projects and prioritize tasks. Knowledge of hospital accounting Excellent written and oral communication skills, including analysis, preparation and report presentation. Ability to plan, budget, manage, and implement small projects with minimal direction by management. Proven ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and integrity. Demonstrates solid analytical and problem-solving skills.

    Required:

    Associate Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Related Field 2-3 years of Prior Accounting Experience

    Preferred:

    Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Related Field 5 or more years of Prior Accounting Experience
